Forgiveness! with Richard Cimino

Forgiveness! with Richard Cimino

On His last journey up to Jerusalem, Jesus stopped to tell His followers (that includes you and me) about the thing that sits at the very core of the Gospel — and therefore must be at the core of the life of every man and woman who has believed the Gospel. It’s something that runs against the grain of the heart of fallen man; something we want but don’t want to give — FORGIVENESS! What Jesus said about forgiveness was so radical that those listening to Him pretty much said, “We can’t do that!”

In our workshop we’re going to look at and talk about three big truths in what Jesus had to say about forgiveness:
1. The truth about our own hearts
2. the truth about the consequences of un-forgiveness
3. the truth about what forgiveness involves.

Looking forward to unpacking this with you.

Fear and Faith with Sarah Eccleshall

Fear and Faith with Sarah Eccleshall

What happens when fear has an authority over us that it was never meant to have? For Christians, the battle against fear is one of the biggest battles of our time. The problem with fear is it stops us from doing what God wants to do in partnership with us. It stops us from dreaming big. But fear also gives us the opportunity to experience courage. Jesus meets us in our fear and He can transform it. Sarah Eccleshall shares experiences through her work in the humanitarian sector, delivering humanitarian relief in conflict settings, and how Jesus can meet us in places of fear so that we can continue to be agents of redemption.

Calling with Bishop Chris

Calling with Bishop Chris

Looking especially at the example of the apostle Peter in the Gospels and the book of Acts, Chris is going to explore the lifelong nature of call and response for disciples of Jesus Christ. This can be an adventure in faith and a pilgrimage of discovery both of God and of ourselves. Yet how do we learn to discern the authentic voice of Christ amongst many others? Chris will challenge the idea that our initial response to the calling of Christ is all that matters. He will advocate for a lifetime’s attentiveness to the present moment presence of God in Christ.

Live Answers to Tough Questions with David Robertson and Andy Bannister

If you’re not a Christian, what’s the question or objection that holds you back from following Jesus? If you are a Christian, what are the questions that your friends ask about your faith, or fear of them asking keeps you from sharing your faith. At Creation Fest 2018, the BIG QUESTIONS series will explore a number of common questions about the Christian faith, with speakers skilled at gently showing why we can be confident in the gospel, whether you’re a doubter, a seeker, a disciple, or a not-sure-what-I’d-call-myself. As well as great talks, each evening we'll have a low key, chilled out Q&A time, when you can bring any question about Christianity—any question you like—and we’ll do our best to help you find an answer to it.
