Sarah has been involved in Creation Fest for the past fifteen years, leading since 2014 when founder Phil Pechonis passed away suddenly. Last May, she told the trustees that she was preparing for transition.

There’s no hidden story and no drama. She does not yet know what God has for her next, only that she feels released from the call to lead Creation Fest. In response, we wholeheartedly bless her, and thank her for the time, energy and extraordinary leadership that she has blessed us with.

There are still many details to be worked out, but rather than wait until we had it all tied down, now felt like the right time to tell our friends and wider community the news.

The trustees of Creation Fest feel prayerfully hopeful for a 2025 event but we are – as ever – trusting God for his clear leading and provision. Creation Fest has always been a radical adventure of faith, and in that respect, nothing has changed.

While God continues to open a door for us to share this incredible adventure of faith in Cornwall, we will continue to be obedient to his call.

And we are so excited for summer 2024! We believe that this year’s event will be the best ever, and we are believing for life, hope and salvation in abundance.

Transitions can be tricky, especially when all the details are not clear. Nonetheless, we know that this is where the rubber of our faith truly hits the road: if Creation Fest is God’s idea (and we believe that it is) it cannot and does not rest on any one individual.

Sarah’s legacy will be the relationships that she has sown into, the partnerships that she has built, the people that she has invested in, the ideas and projects and initiatives that she has birthed and then handed onto those who come behind her.

In this adventure of faith, the time has come for Sarah to pass on the baton of Creation Fest to the next team of people. We’re thankful that this comes as no surprise to the God who holds all things in his hands, and simply invites us to partner with him in the joyful adventure of following Jesus, even in the unknown.
