Refreshing the church. Re-imagining Mission

Hope is Here. Wherever You Are.

We know that not everybody can come to Cornwall for a long weekend. So this year, we’re bringing Creation Fest t0 you!

In partnership with Hope Together, we’ll be making our content available – totally free of charge – so that churches across the UK can run their own Creation Fest Big Weekend hubs, opening their doors to create spaces for their own church family to be refreshed and for their wider community to encounter Jesus, and the hope that he brings.

Our prayer is that Creation Fest Big Weekend becomes a catalyst for you to share a message of hope with YOUR church community.

What do we get?

  • Access to three pre-recorded keynote teachings
  • Access to five pre-recorded seminar streams for you to choose from – full programme to be released soon.
  • A full youth programme. in partnership with The Message, including session plans, pre-recorded worship and teaching, activities and games
  • Training and support: zoom sessions with our team, plus In Conversation, a series of conversations designed to help you and your church reimagine mission

FAQs

Close
Do I have to run the full, three day event?

No. You can run a full, three-day event, or pick and choose from the schedule to design your own event. Screen it all, or just a Saturday night live. Go for broke or dip your toe in the water. It’s up to you.

Close
What does it cost?

Nothing! The Creation Fest Big Weekend is free of charge. Just like all of our events and resources, we believe that the gospel should be freely shared and free for all. But that doesn’t mean that it’s free to put on! If you would like to make a donation, become a regular church partner or hold an offering for us at your event, your support will enable Creation Fest to be able to keep its events and resources free for years to come.

How can people book to come?

We’re leaving it up to local church hubs to run the booking systems for their event in the way that suits them best. Some may use an email address, some may use free ticketing systems such as Eventbrite. Some may (guidelines allowing!) decide to allow open access without prior booking. We’ll include links to local church hubs from our searchable map.

How can I run a COVID-safe event?

Most of you will already be keeping up with the guidelines and regulations that are most appropriate to your setting. We’ll be updating all hub leaders with any additional information, help and support that we can provide to enable us all to run COVID-secure events this summer.

How will people find out about my hub?

We’ll provide you with downloadable resources that you can use to publicise your event, including videos, graphics for social media, customisable posters and flyers. We’d encourage you to advertise your event as far and wide as you are able. Put it on your website and social media. Write a press release and send it in to your local paper. Drop flyers through doors.

We’ll also be listing all events on our searchable map.

Can I just run the live sessions?

Yes! The Big Weekend is designed to be used in a way that is flexible to all settings. If you just want to run morning and evening sessions, that’s great! If you just want to run the afternoon seminars, go ahead. If you just want to tune in for the Saturday night, that’s fine.

Do I have to run kids and youth work?

No, not at all. In our experience, providing quality kids and youth work is a great draw for local families, but more importantly, is an investment into the future of the Kingdom of God. BUT we appreciate that not all churches have spaces, teams or children and young people. It’s there if you need it. And it’s great.

What can I do to make it fun and inviting for my community?

If you want some great ideas for creative community engagement, make sure you sign up for our very special zoom call with Carl Beech (Edge Ministries and Christian Vision for Men), Richard Witham (Scripture Union Sports Lead) and Tim Funnell (LiNX Youth Trust and Creation Fest Skate Park Manager).

What support will I get?

As well as all of the content, downloadable resources and the support of our team, we’ve put together a schedule of zoom meetings designed to equip the local church in specific areas of ministry. There will also be specific vision and planning calls with our team to help you get ready for your Big Weekend.

Close
Can I just tune in for the teaching and run my own in-person worship?

Yes, please feel free to use your own worship band and just screen the Creation Fest Big Weekend teaching sessions. We’ll let you know the full schedule for the morning Big Shed sessions nearer the time so that you can schedule your events in a way that suits you.

How will I access content?

Church Hubs will receive access to all pre-recorded videos by 25 July, 2021. Some sessions will be live streamed (see guide on p.4) from our Cornwall Hub location with unique hosts for the live stream and church hubs.

How do I make it relevant to my setting?

Each church setting is different, and our prayer is that the Big Weekend content makes it easy for you to reach out to your local community in a way that is right for you. Things to consider:

  • Choose Your Content. Consider which content streams will be most valuable for your church family to encounter the hope of the Gospel.
  • Use Live Hosts. Ask members of your church family to host the event with live interaction for your venue in person.
  • Offer Hospitality. Create a tea, coffee, or other hospitality space for your church family as you gather and share what you’ve learned.
  • Create Prayer Spaces. Inside the venue, create prayer spaces for response to the messages and consider creating a HOPE prayer space outside your church venue. Find out more at Hope UK.
  • Build Community. Allow this to be a space to engage and grow with your community. Our content will be accessible for the follower of Jesus and the fringes; use this as a way to grow with your church family.
