A safeguarding statement from Creation Fest UK.
Many people will already be aware of current safeguarding investigations into church leaders and the allegations of abuse shared in national media. We grieve with all those who grieve and pray that all those affected by this situation and others are able to find courage to speak and access the support they need.
Our team at Creation Fest are committed to celebrating the good news of the God who loves us, and doing this through creating spaces of safety, honesty, and wholeness in the presence of Jesus. We take seriously any instances of harm or abuse, and are committed to developing leaders who enable young people (and attendees of all ages) to meet with Jesus in safe ways.
As a part of our commitment to this, we follow robust safer recruitment practices and procedures detailed in our safeguarding policy, which we have developed with the support of thirtyone:eight (the independent Christian safeguarding charity). Any safeguarding concerns related to our organisation can be sent safely and confidentially to safeguarding@creationfest.org.uk and all of our resources regarding safeguarding are available on our website.
If you have specific safeguarding concerns relating to the any national investigation, we encourage you to contact the Church of England’s National Safeguarding team on safeguarding@churchofengland.org. If this has raised concerns for you which are outside of the remit of this investigation, you can speak to thirtyone:eight on 0303 003 1111, or the Safe Spaces helpline on 0300 303 1056.
