Hope is Here!

By Emma Fowle

Hope is Here: The Creation Fest Big Weekend 30 July – 1 August 2021. A big weekend of meeting with God and inviting others to come along for the ride!

Encountering Jesus in a Time of Change

Refreshing the Church, Re-imagining Mission

At Creation Fest, our heart has always been to celebrate the good news of the God who loves us through festivals, events and gatherings designed to creatively communicate the Christian faith and inspire others to do the same.

We love to put on brilliant, free, fun events that bring Christians closer to Jesus, and that are accessible and attractive to those who don’t know God, or who are on the fringes of church community.

If you’ve ever been to our event in Cornwall, you’ll know that alongside quality Bible teaching, worship, seminars and nightly Big Shed concerts, this looks like a skate park, sports activities, a kids and youth programme, an arts stream, bonfires, barn dances and silent discos, late night film screenings, live music and so much more, all designed to draw in the largest possible audience, coming for the fun but staying to hear the good news of the God who loves them.

In Cornwall

This year, we’ll be holding a 3-day Creation Fest Big Weekend at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge from Friday 30th July – Sunday 1st August. A little more intimate than in previous years, we’re working hard to plan a safe, in-person event that encapsulates all that makes Creation Fest unique, creating spaces for the faithful and the fringes to encounter Jesus, whether through music, bible teaching, skate, sports or creative arts. It won’t be quite the same as previous years, but we’re super excited at the possibility to gather together in any way that we can!

But we’re not stopping there.

In Church Hubs

We know that not everyone can get to Cornwall for a three day event, and that many people may not yet want to or be able to participate in large-scale gatherings. So this year, we’ll be attempting something that we’ve never done before. We’ll be making all of the Big weekend content available – totally free of charge – so that churches across the UK can run their own Creation Fest Big Weekend hubs, opening their doors to create spaces for both their own church family to be refreshed and for their wider community to encounter Jesus.

As well as being able to livestream our morning worship, daily Bible teaching, seminar streams, evening Big Shed concerts, kids and youth work, we’ll also be providing everything needed for churches of all shapes and sizes to plan and run their own events, from marketing materials and ideas for creative community fun to inspiring training videos on prayer, community outreach and more.

And Wherever You Are

And of course, all morning and evening Big Shed sessions will be live-streamed right here on our website and our social media channels, completely free of charge – making the good news of Jesus Christ freely available to a potentially unlimited audience. Why not gather your friends or family, in person or virtually, and experience the presence of God in your own home!

Our vision is that the Creation Fest Big Weekend refreshes the church and re-imagines mission, becoming a catalyst for creative Gospel proclamation and creating a culture of invitation for both the faithful and the fringes to encounter Jesus.

At a time of great change, there is an unprecedented opportunity to encounter Jesus and be changed ourselves, and to invite our communities to experience the life-changing hope of encountering Jesus as well, to impact our nation with the good news of Jesus Christ and the hope that He brings.

We are praying that none of us will ever be the same again.
